Holy ####.

Forwarded to the collapse, and now I think I need a drink at 10:45 a.m.

Always amazes me how quiet the collapse is on video. It was so so loud, ten freight trains in ten thunderstorms, it went right up into your bones, but the audio doesn't pick up the sound. It's just sort of a low rumble.

I might watch the whole thing sometime. This would be as good a time as any. The ghosts started rising weeks ago, as they do every year in August.

Funny, I was just remembering the other day how I couldn't watch a baseball game or other sporting event for a while. The sound of people screaming in the stands sounded like downtown on 9/11.

The part around 5:50 where a guy and a cameraman just run into the abandoned WTC7 is surreal. He runs up the escalator and there's a single Secret Service guy named Bennette of the "OST" department hanging out. He's got on a police vest but apparently was a technician and not a Secret Service policeman and he talks calmly to the man who ran into the building. I'm surprised that someone could have just run into WTC7 after the towers came down and a lone man was on the mezzanine level. He's lucky he got out considering that building came down too.

As an even weirder footnote, Mr. Bennette was later charged with stealing some 9/11 damages government vehicles that were supposed to be scrapped.
