If you had to move from NYC which other city would you like to live in and why? Does it have to be similar to NYC or very different?

Just curious. Does anyone know if there are any cities that have a good number of native New Yorkers living in it?

Tons of natives in Florida. In many parts you will find more NYers there than in some NYC neighborhoods.

Chicago is a great town full of friendly mid west folks but a city edge. Boston is somewhat like NY. Lots of NYers now out in Vegas.

My eye is on Orange county, CA. Such beautiful landscape, great weather, nice people, close to LA if you need your fill of 3rd world trash.

It really all depends on where you are in life. I never thought I'd leave, but time changes everything.

If I were to move somewhere it would be back to San Francisco where I lived for a short period before moving to NYC. It has comparable public transportation (although not as a good as NYC), the weather is milder than NYC, lots of local attractions and I have some family/relative connections there.

I like Philly, New Orleans, DC, Asheville NC (not much of a city really but still nice), Ft Lauderdale

I want to go to LA, Cincinatti, Louisville, Austin, Houston, and Miami.

When I leave NYC, it won't be to move to another city. I know where I really want to move to, but NYS' politics will likely force me to chose another location.

Miami Beach, FL, or Honolulu, HI.

If had to leave NYC, my first choice would hands down be San Diego.

I'd also consider certain part of upstate or western NY...I can see myself living in Ithaca or Syracuse.

Right now from where I have visited? Philly.

I still have lots of places to explore. I like warm but usually walkable and warm don't really go hand-in-hand.

I have zero interest in living in a place where I have to drive to every single thing.

Philly. But that's partly due to affordability. I like San Francisco and Los Angeles but the cost may be prohibitive. A bonus of Philly is that it's close enough to NYC for day trips.

I never cared much for Chicago, and I don't like hot weather so that rules out most of the southern US. I enjoyed visiting Santa Fe and the weather is great, but I think I'd get bored really quickly.
