Just sat for this exam, did reasonably well (88). I'm wondering if anyone knows how long it takes to get called up?

Also, what's your experience been working for ACS?

I was a CPS worker for 5 years. Don't mean to be negative but this job is very dangerous and very stressful. The CPS worker is overlooked and use as a scapegoat for EVERYTHING! No respect among the workers, management or the courts. Bottom line this line of work is not built for everyone.

CHemfing, what office were you working in? I worked there for 5.5 myself. I left back in 2013.

Just curious, who are the majority of workers at CPS? Average qualifications? Anyone know of breakdown between workers and management?

Honestly seems like one of the most stressful social service jobs there are.
I wouldn't do it, no matter how much they were paying me.

Have family members in SS and it is; the only reason why they remain is by not they've so much invested (post graduate degrees, pension, etc...) that leaving really isn't an option.

Bottom line is you are dealing with often horrible situations involving children/minors, and no matter what you do it is often "dammed if you do, or damned if you don't". Take a child away and something happens you've caught a case; leave a child in the home and something happens, ditto. Then of course you have no end of arm chair quarterbacks (including within the city workforce) ready to second guess/tell you what should have been done.

Exactly.
Plus, from what I understand caseloads are unreasonably high, making the job all that much more difficult.

Also, nobody likes the worker who comes to take away their kids.
That's where some of the danger is.

Honestly, there are easier social service jobs.
