(CNN)The US Women's National Team's victory tour will continue with a ticker tape parade in New York City on Wednesday.

The soccer team won its second consecutive FIFA Women's World Cup when it beat the Netherlands 2-0 on Sunday during the match in France. Megan Rapinoe scored a penalty goal in the second half, giving the team a 1-0 lead, and Rose Lavelle added a second score with a shot in the 69th minute

The city has bigger issues to deal with. I could list all the services and needs that city dwellers can use, but we already know that. The money spent today could be put to better use.

Why any other parade? Is the PR day parade just about NY, is St. Patrick's or the West Indian Day parade?

Those all involve the local population so yes they have something to do with New York. You still haven't answered what this team has to do with New York.
