Excerpt: McDonald's will be closing their old flagship Times Square restaurant.
Response:
I have eaten in that restaurant many times when I worked evenings.
For McDonalds to pull the plug on that location says much about the direction
in which New York City is heading. Soon enough....our city will be a place where
the average person can't even afford a cheap cup of coffee..........................
as was just said above, it's being replaced by a better location. They're just upgrading to 2.0
You can't open any food services in Time Square anymore, there's just not enough foot traffic to support the rent and cost of doing business.
This is the busiest time for McD when summer tourists flock the city. This week it looks more lively but still 80% less than how it used to be hordes of tourists mobbing the streets. That's the one thing I'm enjoying is the mob of tourists has all disappeared.

Except that the destinations you compete with tourists for are all closed now so it's bittersweet
When's the last time anybody on here been to that McDonalds? I swear I prolly havent been since they first put the big marquee up. Prolly only been there once or twice - the lines were always a deterrent.
