Police will be at the mercy of the public
once Mayor DeBlasio signs the bill next week
making it a crime for a police officer to use
a choke hold to subdue during an arrest.
One of the strongest submission holds in Jiu-jitsu in quickly
deescalating a physical confrontation. The police now become targets.
A choke hold was used on a police officer yesterday by a gang
member. The cop unable to use the choke hold himself for fear of
retribution, loss of job, jail time or both ends up in the hospital
with stitches to his head. The gang member runs off.
Turns himself in. No charges?

I encourage a proposal by the police department
under Patrick Lynch and Mike O'Meara to
to recruit members of the community under a new title
unique from that of Auxiliary officers.
A Policing Samaritan.
For the sole purpose of assisting an officer in only
making an arrest in dire moments and only if called upon.
They will be an extension of the police force operating without
accountability with the distinction of only serving to protect the
men and women in blue.
