Nope. During Cuomo's briefing today, someone asked that question to which he said, nope. That it never was and will continue not to be.
Do you remember what channel you saw this on? I guess I can look online. And you say it was from the Wednesday briefing and not the Tuesday one, right?
@Llol45519 I didn't actually ask for a tax break in the original post, but I was seriously curious as to the likelihood of it because I didn't want to deal with potentially having to re-file my taxes just in case such a break was given after I already filed.

NY1, this morning around 11:30. I was only half listening when a reporter brought up the question so you may want to hear the briefing yourself just to be sure. Cuomo has a twitter account that used to post clips of his press briefings in case you missed it on NY1. NY1 also has a website.

Oye, hombre! Give it up, it's just not going to happen!
"New York budget director Robert Mujica said Wednesday all unemployment payments will remain subject to state taxes.
“Those benefits have been subject to state tax for decades,” said Mujica. “So, that has not changed.”
State just did a huge budget with (surprise surprise) more welfare and social service spending and pork. That money has to come from somewhere and again I'll give you three guesses who is going to pay. And if you believe NYS only goes after the wealthy I've a bridge that am trying to unload.....
"If you live in Colorado, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Mississippi, North Carolina, New York, Rhode Island, South Carolina or West Virginia, you cannot use the $10,200 exemption on your state tax bill, according to H&R Block, a nationwide tax preparation business."

They're giving illegal aliens up to $15.6k in "unemployment" payments. Do the math by how many illegals you think are in NYS and you begin to see why you weren't getting any discount on UI taxes.
Like I said, someone has to pay for all this largess, and it isn't always who people think either.
