Can you sum up in a post the experience? Especially the Bronx part.
What specifically did you want to know?
I don't do it competitively. I do it for the experience. Every year is different. Love the spectators. They make the race for me. Every area minus the bridges and the part of Williamsburg the Hasidic live people are cheering. I always encourage people to watch the race. After all you have 26 miles to choose where you want to go.

How is the Bronx part? The streets and hills are a challenge?

Bronx has gotten more energy compared 10 years ago. Its very brief into the Bronx. Its more challenging back into Manhattan by Central Park for the last leg
I was so dedicated last year. Running over 10 miles at least once a week. Got up to almost 15 miles by April. I was feeling great. Even when it started to look like it was going to be canceled, I kept training. Then the leftists saw their opening to make their move against the country and my whole life changed. Training stopped, work sucked, I made a major life change... you know the story.
I'm pretty sure I'll never run it now. It is what it is. I'm just getting back into running around the neighborhood after all those changes and the move threw me off.

Exactly this. You are barely in the Bronx. The tourists see the projects and western beef
I've been doing it a lot long then 10 years. The energy has changed so much in every area. Greenpoint and Williamsburg used to be dead!

Running is truly the best way to see/learn new areas. In no time you will know the area all around you.
I have to walk much more these days then run. But I go through so many neighborhoods when I'm out on my walks.
I enjoy the crazy signs out there. My wife ran a few years ago. There was a guy that was wearing some crazy colors and had a sign at mile 3 saying "This is just the beginning!". Then at mile 13 it was "You're halfway there" (I guess he took the subway between each location). Then at mile 22 his sign said "Oh no, it's that guy again!" and at 26 it was "You made it!". lol.
