AOC joined Wiley at a campaign event Saturday afternoon to formally endorse the progressive candidate for mayor.

Quote:
“With Maya Wiley, we have a candidate that grassroots movements can work with, can inform and can shape, because she comes from it and she understands and appreciates the importance of grassroots organizing not just in supporting but leading movements, in being the north star for policy," Ocasio-Cortez said in a speech outside city hall standing next to Wiley. "If we don’t come together as a movement, we will get a New York City built by and for billionaires, and we need a city by and for working people. She understands that. And that’s why it’s so important that we come together as a movement and rank Maya No. 1.

With less than three weeks until the primary, the two big questions following this endorsement are: 1. Can the left wing of the party unite around one candidate? 2. And is that enough to overtake Yang or Adams in the election?

AOC is a clown who has a certain M.O.

She latches on to popular woke causes that are trending on social media.

It's all about "building a brand".

I actually think this will backfire on Wiley who is my current RCV #1. NYC is just not as progressive as AOC is and I have issues with a lot of things AOC does, her tactics vs. her outcomes make it feel like she's more about showmanship than results.

I go to the City a few times a month and can't vote but just my two cents - I think this is good for Garcia as Yang and Adams will do the work of portraying Maya Wiley as DeBlasio 2.0.

That endorsement would be a kiss of death anywhere else in the country except NYC.

Exactly this.
She lives in fantasy land at best.

Lot of doom and gloom talk here and, I try to counter with "we'll recover" or something but, not with Wiley. If she gets appointed, almost all of NYC is going to look like Midtown and City Hall last June and, NYC won't recover.

If I didn't know who was who in this race and then AOC comes out with this endorsement, I would make sure to NOT VOTE FOR whoever AOC supports. But I already know I'm supporting Adams and Yang.

The only people who have something to gain from voting for these witches are criminals. You vote for Wiley then you want to see crime increase and criminals running the city. No good will come from voting for this woman.
