What makes around here bad? From Google Street Views, this does not look like an area that I would fear for my life walking around at night.
Honestly where the shooting is isn't TERRIBLE, but its not great, but forest ave is a bit of a border, you head north on forest toward the terrace and it gets bad fast.
Sad thing is back in the day these were all solid working to middle class areas. You had some issues, but nothing like what's happening now. I mean if there was a shooting once every few years that would have been news. Now things are popping off around there once a week or so, that's not good.
Not in graniteville no? .. I grew up in bullshead right by the applebees/chilis plaza. Graniteville was always looked at as a little dicey but I never felt unsafe there at all. I guess I still dont, however I definitely feel like its gone downhill. I could only assume just creep from the forest ave side toward port Richmond
Real Madrid! A fave back in the 90’s. Lobster Diablo paella, a Dos XX. Elm park Inn was slamming. But those neighborhoods were never good. A lot of the bad kids came from those areas. (Based on kids I knew from school) The housing there was more affordable than other areas.
Anyone remember the old “Majors” shopping store back in the 70’s? There was a small ice rink across the street from it. So much has changed.
