Does anyone know how long it will take until the crown of the Statue of Liberty will reopen, considering that it has been closed since March 16, 2020. Liberty Island and Ellis Island were closed on March 16, 2020 and Liberty Island was reopened July 20, 2020 with Ellis Island following on August 24, 2020. The Statue of Liberty Museum and the Ellis Island Immigration Museum both reopened on August 24, 2020 and the Statue of Liberty Pedestal was reopened July 1, 2021. I also know the Empire State Building Observatory was closed starting March 16, 2020 and reopened July 20, 2020. What will have to happen for the crown of the Statue of Liberty to reopen, considering the spread of the Delta variant?

they can keep it closed; it's not worth it to visit it. If i recall, it's a 2-hour climb up a tight spiral staircase into a room a size of a walk-in closet.

And the views out the crown are meh. it's of red hook (tbf, it's not like they knew how the skyline would turn out).
