Hi everyone, my basement ended up flooded with 5-6 feet of water when Hurricane Ida came by 3 weeks ago. I’m trying to help my parents fill out the Water Damage Claim form and submit it ASAP to the NYC Comptroller office through their eClaim filing system.

For some reason, I’m getting an error when submitting because there’s an invisible signature panel that I don’t clearly see on the form or signature validity is unknown issue. Did anyone successfully submit the form online? Is anyone else having the same issue? Any insight is much appreciated!

Not surprising. You'd think that the Comptroller's office would have their IT people check out the form to make sure it's working, since numerous people will be filing claims after Ida.

Try a different browser. I'm assuming you're using chrome? Firefox tends to work with all website builds.

Why not make a phone call to city and explain issue to see if or any technical support work around they suggest?

Off top of my head your browser, firewall or security settings may be blocking pop-ups or whatever it is you want to see.

Hi all, thanks for your inputs! I found an email on their website and reached out. The responder referred me to the FAQs where there was a step by step guide on filling out the eClaim form. The reason why I was having issues submitting my eClaim form was because I opened the link then downloaded the file (which I thought any normal person would do?). Instead of this process, you're suppose to just right click the link and find "Save the link As" and then open the document from there. I was able to successfully submit the eClaim form a few days ago. Hoping to hear back from FEMA and the comptroller's office soon.
