There are numerous delis, restaurants, and grocery stores in that area, so you don't have to worry. Almost every place delivers now too. Thinking the closest traditional grocery store would be the Morton Williams on 72nd and 1st Ave.

In terms of delivery of groceries and other items, look into the new ultra fast (15 minutes or less ) services that cover Manhattan. They usually don’t charge a delivery fee and will give good discounts for the first couple of orders. Prices tend to be as good as in the supermarkets.

You've got Morton Williams supermarket at 1331 First Avenue between 71st and 72nd, they are open 24/7

Further south in 60's on First you've got Space Market, which is local convenience/bodega type store, but they do delivery/GrubHub. https://www.yelp.com/biz/space-market-new-york-2

Personally depending upon what is wanted I'd stick with Morton Williams as they are a full supermarket. Being the only large supermarket on First in area of "hospital row", tons of staff and others from NYP, HSS and other healthcare facilities know the place, and vice versa. You can probably ask at place your staying if they know Morton Williams or for other recommendations.
