Wow. Time flies. It's been 25 years. I still want to know who killed 2Pac.

My mother used to babysit Tupac in Brooklyn . . . I think people forget he has NYC roots, too.

Biggie's old block on St. James and Fulton is 3-4 blocks from my parents' residence on the other side of Atlantic Avenue.

True. He really made a name for himself out in California, but I think he spent most of his life in the East Coast, primarily the NYC area and Baltimore.

Yea, spent his early years in NY (I thought uptown?) and part of his HS time in Bmore or as he called it "Ignorancetown" before they moved to the Bay. I'm shocked at how many don't even associate him with Oakland, even though that's where he was for his first couple albums.

Wow. In a blink of an eye 25 years passes us by. I remember when he first came on the scene and hearing "Gimme the loot" for the first time. That track was a beast. Then a few years later Tupac and him both died. It seems like it was just yesterday when all of this happened.

Yeah. Doesn't it? It feels more like 7 or 8 years ago. Not 25! Where does the time go. lol.
I remember watching the impromptu tribute they had for him (where everybody was out on the street dancing & jumping to Hypnotize). That was something to see.

I remember that he really started to peak, in terms of fame, when he signed with Suge Knight (who along with Snoop and Dre were all LA area guys). So much of Tupac's notoriety came when he was associated with LA. But much of his time in California was in the Bay. I think when he was a kid, he lived in Marin City and then he went into Oakland as he got older.

He was really a nomad.
