All these overpriced coffee stores. . . just get a $1.50 brick of a Hispanic coffee brand and make it yourself. That stuff is strong!
I'd rather make coffee at home than drink that. I have regard for what I put in my body. Treat your body good and you'll age like fine wine. If you were talking about Starbucks, you'd have a point. These are specialty places that provide high quality coffee.
Anywho, it's good to see the coffee shops popping.
I think many (most?) high finance firms are back in office five full days a week. This may change down the road but you’re talking about kids in their 20s who are making 200-500K and getting the type of job experience that opens hundreds of doors.
LMAO Scary. You work in Midtown and have never heard of Blue Bottle Coffee? They are all over Manhattan. Personally prefer a good Italian espresso, but Zibetto is a terrible example here in Midtown, so I go to places that are decent. Blue Bottle, La Colombe, Birch, Joe Coffee. A few decent Aussie coffee shops too... Bluestone Lane, Little Collins, etc. Wasn't that long ago that Midtown was a food and coffee dump and expensive. Now it's expensive with options.
Im not a coffee person. Prefer tea most of the time and I have my own stash at work.
I think he meant that people who are doing hybrid are likely to have Tuesday as one of their office days. Judging by the subway, I would agree. Tuesday is one of the two days I go to the office too (I also do Thursdays)

That's correct. Streets just feel busier then.

LMAO Cubicle slaves huh... That's a good one. Personally, I don't think anyone is slaving like they did pre-COVID. Maybe some people are working more hours, but still likely not traveling as much. I feel so much more productive than pre-COVID.
The CEOs can yell at the top of their lungs "You MUST return to work!" and as-a-result, will see many professionals resigning.
This approach and stance is not in line with the current talent market.
I think an onsite/offsite mix for white collar workers is here to stay, and for the short term, most folks don't want to go into the office 5 days per week.
Why would they? Time is wasted a lot AT work, and the large majority of people can be much more productive at home.
There are far too many companies hiring and luring top producing talent with fully remote or hybrid situations in today's economy.
Companies that take "hard-lined" approaches will fall far behind eventually, and will not be able to attract the best of the best.

My friend who works for Credit Suisse is only back in 3x a week, and another friend who works for Bank of China is back 2x a week. Both are past the "kids in their 20s just starting out" stage.
