VA Hospitals in Manhattan and Fort Hamilton *May* Close (campus, health)

VA has released details of plans to overhaul their massive system, and details are leaking out.

In a one two punch VA plans to close Fort Hamilton hospital and "right size" their Manhattan healthcare campus. In both instances current low inpatient counts and predicted declining numbers are huge part of reason.

Fort Hamilton VA is where many vets ended up going for care after Reagan shut down U.S.P.H hospital on Staten Island. Will be interesting to see where people from SI and South Brooklyn end up going should FH close as well.

I heard about this. Would be terrible if they did close. Kudos to Nicole Malliotakis for standing with those that would be negatively impacted and fighting.
