Flying into LGA on mid morning on a Tuesday in early Dec. Town car services are quoting me between $160-$200 for a pickup for 2 passengers traveling to mid-town, meeting me outside at curb.
Is it typical to have to wait 30 minutes or more if I choose to go the taxi or Uber route? If not, I'll go that route rather than the town car & save a few bucks.
I don't know about a line for LGA but I don't think I've ever waited 30 minutes. Maybe it depends what time you arrive. I've also done Uber/Lyft from LGA without any major problems.
I'm on a NYC tourists Facebook group (don't ask me why since I live here) called New York City Travel Tips and people are always talking about airport pickups. I just searched the group for you to see if there's any info. Several people like Prem's Luxury; not sure if price is more competitive than the one you mentioned.
I came back from a business trip on Thursday. LGA to NJ and it was 87.00 with tip around 96. I landed around 5pm. I used Uber,. OP - your trip should be cheaper. The rate of 160 to 200 is a rip off unless they are going to give you a BJ after the ride.

For what its worth, that pricing sounds about right for black car service to/from manhattan. I pay about ~$150 w/ my regular service. For that price, however, they should not be picking you up at the curb, they should be getting you inside w/ your bags. YMMV.
