90% of criminals are bold and don't wear a mask. And need we be reminded that ski masks have been used since the 1920s by bank robbers but we still haven't banned them. They are also used by Delivery drivers to get us our food so they don't freeze to death.

Most young men wear a surgical mask around their chin as a fashion statement, not to conceal their identity.

As I understand it, prosecutors are required to be more responsible about evidence. Which is likely a good thing. If more cases are dropped, it would tend to mean that the case was weak or the prosecutors weren't acting properly.
When the new discovery laws came into effect, every DA in the city claimed that they needed to hire additional staff to process the volume of evidence that came in with their overall case loads and turn it over within the timeframe of the law. Otherwise, they would be forced to drop cases.

Here is a link from the state regarding a poll that describes changes by the da’s offices and public defender offices in reaction to the new discovery laws:

https://www.criminaljustice.ny.gov/c...2012-22-21.pdf

Not sure if the city’s 6 da’s office’s received adequate funding, but this article suggests whatever increases throughout the state haven’t been enough to date:

And of course, pay and work load balances have experienced lawyers leaving the da’ s offices and the less experienced ones who remain have to pick up the slack

This is part of the reform. Get evidance and assemble them cases quickly. Hire a pool of paralegals ,from john jay and hofstra, and let them get their hands wet. Great learning tool, why not?

Train the PD upper management too. No more grab em all and weed em out! This free for all of stop and frisk is why the whole system got jammed up in the first place.

Less people sitting in jail, learning new skills. Seperate the real fron the ultra petty.

Right now everyone is shocked about from the" great mop up " the city is undergoing. Its a mess, but we will smell the fresh pine sol by the end of the year.

Each and every part of NY’s new-ish spate of “crime reform” laws was explicitly written to pander to the pro-perp lobby.

Every single complaint from reasonable politicians and/or citizens has come true.

It’s not rocket science. NY’ers elect lowlife politicians. They pander to what they know: fellow lowlives.

It’s no longer a question of “abandoning” the state. It is about self-preservation: move!

Fashion Statement ?

Sorry.....................Disagree

Try going for a job interview on that premise. I bet it won't go over to well.

Hand out free weed, then it will lead to lower crime. Most of these young people are stealing stuff to pawn them off for weed. This is the reason for the rise in crime, young people have nothing to do but smoke weed. But who is gonna pay for the weed? George Soros?

The other day at CVS I bought a box of toothbrushes for $18. A tube of Neosporin for $17. Those are a couple examples: because the prices of everything in the store are thru the roof!!

One can only wonder if prices increase due to rampant theft. Half of the store is locked behind plexiglass. But if you ask anybody in the store if there is a linkage between the theft and the insane price increases you will just get a bunch of silly excuses

“Everything is just getting expensive”
“It is only temporary”
“Making toothbrushes is not cheap”
“If you don’t like it go to the dollar store”

Everyone in the store is living in a liberal non reality of endless avoidance and unlimited aloof excuses

Also CVS still has Covid injections. There is that little movable privacy curtain next to the pharmacy counter with a sign that says “Patients getting Covid vaccinations are required to wear a mask!”

We are living in a hellscape of lies

I suspect they are nostalgic for the Rotten Apple of the 70s and 80s as this is essentially what they're creating. If it's any consolation, Times Square should get a lot more interesting...
