Ahhh Bloomingdales... Got my some very nice items there... My first stoneware pieces were from there. I have some Buccellati cufflinks from Italy from there as well that I still have.
How anyone can spend that kind of money at this place it beyond me! Prices are complete rip off!
You obviously must shop at thrift stores. Bloomingdale's sells quality high-end items. I bought a fantastic Italian coat from there years ago that lasted me for several seasons. Impeccable quality. It is a luxury department store like Saks.

Bloomingdale's has always been a high-end department store. I don't know what you mean by "meeting people" though. lol

If you view the video, there is a portion where a guy is interviewed and talks about how he has met up with women there, as well as how people find out about where parties are while shopping there. It starts around 12:30.
Yeah, Bloomie's is still very upscale, lots of designer shops and the like. Nice thing about it I've found (though I rarely shop there anymore) is that the selling floors are uncrowded and feel spacious, and the customer service really is a cut above what you'd find in Macy's or the like. Bloomie's does have a few places to grab a bite, and I'd guess a certain slice of Manhattanites will meet and have a lunch there.

Think OP is more referring to people hooking up or otherwise meeting someone while shopping at Bloomingdale's. Sort of what kids do when shopping out at the mall or wherever they go these days.
Have never been one of those "Excuse Me Miss" types, but hey if that line works for you....

Macy’s also sells quality items and while they are also expensive, they are a hell of a lot cheaper than Bloomingdale’s.
