Now NYC is a special case, perhaps, because immigrants tend to move to the 'burbs when they have achieved affluence and can afford it. Not all, but a significant chunk. NYC has been a city of new arrivals for a long time; the days when many generations of native New Yorkers lived in the same houses and neighborhoods are long gone.

With the dawn of AI, in few years many will be voting against the technocrats who enabled jobs to be replaced by AI. Majority of tech work today aren't needed anymore because of redundant and error prone work that are better handled by AI. Bud light fired a bunch of their office workers but kept their bottling and factory workers. Because it's easy for tech to replace tech workers and manual labor is becoming harder to find because the younger gen are no refilling the factory lines or apprenticeship with a hands on skilled work.

China can build vast cities the last 25 years because they have an abundance of skilled workers that can build, craft, and engineer their infrastructure.

America can't even fix highways properly in 40 years. While cities are in despair due to rise in poverty, crime, drug use, and income inequality.

China has brought more people out of poverty and has a bigger middle class now. This shows the US socialism isn't working. More handouts the more poverty, the more taxation on the middle class the more income inequalities.

Migrants are not the solution to this country, US is increasingly becoming 3rd world like with all of the 3rd world problems but not the affordability.

The highest unemployment currently in the USA is in NY and CA. We don’t need ANY immigrants, and we do not need any illegal aliens either.

Americans can be doctors too, we do not need to import foreigners.

A higher skill set of people are needed in industry today. This is no longer the Ford assembly line of the 1920's.
Industry has shifted towards high technologies with demands on microelectronic and software servicing experience combined.

Back then a willingness to work at hard manual labor got you by even with a language barrier or minimal education.

Not speaking the language and little education today is a death sentence for any city.
Skilled people leaving the city for better quality of life only amplifies the problem.

The city is affordable to a smaller group of people than decades ago.

Dishwashers can't do that. Taxi drivers can't do that. Waiters can't do that. Laborers can't do that.


We are in the midst of a technological revolution requiring less humans to operate but in need of more to fix them.

and this industry will not stay where skills lack. Industry will move to a location where it's demands can be met.

Not to confuse speed with intelligence, N.Y.C. is still fast paced but on the bell curve of intelligence
which is needed by technological industries I believe N.Y.C. is quickly falling flat.

If you are retired you likely have little idea what has happened to the workforce environment today.

Tons and tons of computer jobs were outsourced to foreigners who only hire other foreigners.
AI will eliminate tons of jobs.

What is left are all the manual labor jobs that the illegal aliens stoled. Illegal aliens will only hire other illegals so many American construction and all trade workers are out of luck there. Even if an American get a construction job, their pay will continue shrinking because invaders work for less.

If a New Yorker supports illegal workers in even the slightest way, they are traitors. You’d have to be beyond stupid to just brush off the tens of millions of illegal workers in the USA.

Despite all the lies the government and the media pushes, the job market is not so great. NY and California, two of the dumbest and traitorous states in regards “sanctuary city” lies, these are the worst job markets in America for legal workers and it will only get worse.

The thing is, this is only the beginning. There are only 100,000 of them but the number will easily double in a year, and triple to quadruple in two years.

The goal for NYC is probably around 8 million “migrants”. They want to completely capsize the city population. That is their goal. It does not look like it yet, but drop by drop the writing is on the wall.

We are not safe or welcome in NYC anymore. As the original poster mentioned, many of us will have to leave. The invaders will give us no other choice.

What the Adams' administration really wants is for the federal government to authorize illegal immigrants ability to work in the U.S., but keep in mind that they haven't had any background checks or any of their asylum claims/stories verified, by U.S. government officials.

There will be a lot of problems, once the illegal immigrants are authorized to work and allowed to compete for NYC housing vouchers or the housing lottery system. This will put them in direct competition with low waged earners in NYC, who are disproportionally Black American.

Yeah black Americans will be displaced but I semi disagree because look how Affirmative Action operates in Africa.
