To this day I never saw the appeal of Target. I have nothing bad to say about the store, but nothing really strikes out to me that would put them above anybody else. Don't get me wrong, I've shopped at a few Targets before, but I don't know what makes them so special. Someone clue me in.
It's big. The isles are spacious. They have a little bit of everything so it's one stop shopping. Everything is neatly lined up & nicely arranged. There are a lot of Target employees walking around so it's easy to ask for help. I like Target brand items. It's cheap & decent enough.
It's not as aggravating to shop there as opposed to Whole Foods, Rite Aid, Walgreens.
Those places give me stress. And....! Target has self checkout.

The ones in Manhattan aren't really good. If you go to the ones in either Queens Place (near Queens Center Mall) or Atlantic Avenue, those are much bigger stores with a huge selections of various things. You can buy inexpensive, but good quality clothing, toys, books, electronics, kitchen gadgets and food/snacks, all in one store. And everything is well priced, IMHO.
Though, I do think Walmart is significantly better, which is why I'm upset there are none in NYC.

Of course it's inexpensive. It's all from China, with the exception of food items and some other select things they carry that are Made in USA. I'd say 80 - 90% of what they sell is Made in China. Most of the non-Chinese, Made in USA items are food related, which is what I buy when I go to one.

Sad but true. Target is one step above WalMart in terms of clientele and merchandise, and sadly a lot of it is Made in China. And believe me, I look at where products are made.
Then again, my wife recently bought a soup pot in Macy's, made in China. Name a store that doesn't have stuff Made in China.

You have to either buy brands that you know makes Made in USA or shop online for it. I did a little experiment once when I was in a Target in Queens. After I bought my usual items, I walked around and randomly checked where some other items were made and everything I picked up that I normally wouldn't buy was Made in China, so I go in to buy select items that I know are Made in USA.
