Targets, Banks, Starbucks, Chipotle, Walgreens. They’re turning ( already did ?) Manhattan into a suburban shopping mall. It’s boring.
Banks, Starbucks, Walgreens and DR all have been cutting back NYC locations over past few years. Target OTOH is expanding because in good part they fill a niche that has largely been empty since K-Mart vanished.
Walmart is effectively banned from NYC but Target has figured ways to make things work.
You've just described about 95% of shops in NYC...

She acts like it's the 1990s or something. It's 2023. I don't think she's that old either. That's the scary part. Maybe she's from another country, but she's been here long enough to get with the program.

No, they're expanding because their shareholders are demanding more profits. Nothing more nothing less.

This comment sounds like it's from the 90s or 2000s. What other options are there in today's overinflated manhattan real estate market? Urban minorities are even used to these suburban chains which at that point aren't even suburban anymore.
Big business has won over mom and pop and it's representative of the unequal power that exists in today's society. Yes it sucks.
