NYC intentionally let that area become blighted. I wonder why? Does Queens need another electronic gaming parlor.?
Sorry it isn't real casino without live dealers, "free" drinks and smoking.
Don't care still going to AC and Vegas.
The area as been garbage since before I was born. When I went to Shea Stadium in the late 80s it was probably even worse than it is today. This wasn't some decades long scam to get a casino there. You're talking like NYC and Cohen let it go to hell for a couple of years with some grand plan of a casino.
It's also not a proposal for another electronic casino so I think you misread that.
As blighted as this area is, it's paradise compared to Atlantic City which is a hell hole outside of the casinos.
If NYC gets legal real casinos AC is basically done. At best there will be 2-3 casinos left there.
I know it wasn't a decades long plan to get a casino, but it was intentionally neglected for years. I still wonder why.
As far as AC..I'm not going there to window shop. I go for the Casinos and the beach. And the area around Resorts World isn't exactly paradise you know. NY will never allow smoking, so for me not a real casino. I enjoy putting a few bucks on a game and watching it with a cigar with likeminded people. Simple pleasures.
It already has a carchy name its The Iron Triangle.
Used to be chop shop world. City never put in any type of water/sewage system over there. Bloomberg wanted to put a convention center complex there but it took decades to get the shops out. Still a couple hold outs up by northern.
The LGA-JFK monorail would go right through there on the waterfront. The Chinese in Flushing want to clean up Flushing bay to utilize the vast waterfront that has been industrially polluted forever.
The NYFC new stadium is going to be close to that area. A live card casino would do well there, especially with the US Open/Mets/MLS.

The first thing you smell when in a CT casino such as Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun is that of cigarrettes. I'm not against people smoking (don't smoke, just put a warning on every packet you csn get cancer and die, and msybe limit the age to buy to 21 like alcohol, then let then be free; when did the USA began to emulate a dictatorship?), at least that was the case the one times each I visited both places just to see what all the fuss is about, Admitedly, that was a long time ago, then I was a university student (close to 9/11.) Maybe that has changed, though I doubt it.
Anyway, the proposed Queens casino gets its inspiration on looking lime one of the two most well known casinos in CT? I think Foxwoods is still the largest casino in the USA, could be world but maybe the Chinese broke that record in Macau.
Here you can see their flashiness and their size including a shopping/entertainment\dining area. The proposed one for Queens will be similar? Those are owned and run by Native Americans (your ancestors took their land, they take your money, fair is fair lol), and I think are in Native American reservations, so they probably get tax advantages that the proposed casino in Querns might not get.
The roads around that area cannot handle the casino traffic so I doubt the project will be approved.
I like the idea though. One way is to find an empty lot on LI near a LIRR station to build a garage for out of town visitors to park and ride the LIRR to the venue.

A big hell no! Wtf, aint lotto fleecing enough "vice" money from dreamers?
It is Parkland the belongs to the People for enjoyment of fresh air and green spaces.
What queens needs is something non casino ,non sports!!!
Hows about some trades schools,Vocational HS,3 floor apartment buildings ,aka garden apartments. So much need for housing in Overcrowded Corona and Flushing!!!! A damn Mitchell Llama like Big Six in Woodside.
A sports arena for youth athletics,or to rent out for special occasions like graduation ceremonies,etc...
Leave a lasting legacy For the Real working class NYERS.

Anyway, the proposed Queens casino gets its inspiration on looking lime one of the two most well known casinos in CT? But I'm okay with online gambling. Earlier this week i found this page on accident https://gamblizard.ca/best-canadian-online-casinos/fast-payout-casinos/ and found out about some new casinos which have fast payout. I've already played in one, and can say I really enjoyed it.

I visited Foxwoods once, and it was amazing. I don't think that the new casino will be able to "beat" it.
But I think that the new one in Queens will anyway be beneficial for the area.
