As a Republican, I had high hopes for this guy, but his actions, while not illegal, are absolutely unacceptable. He should resign because he ran on a platform full of lies and deceit.

Yeah, but what he did takes the cake. He lied about his qualifications, lied about his ethnic background and on and on.

It won’t take long before he does something illegal, he’s paved the way, and his cronies appreciate someone in whose mouth butter does not melt and shows no remorse, no concern for recant.. He’s a valued asset.

If any of you believe that this is the only sitting politician to lie to this extent, you're either a fool or an idiot.

He should still be kicked out/resign in shame but there is 0% chance he's the only one either among Congressional or NY politicos.

They're focusing on him because his lies are so asinine and stupid as to be trivial in the scheme of things. Getting rid of this buffoon doesn't threaten real corrupt politicians.

McCarthy made that very clear when he kicked the ball toward the ethics committee. Kevin got the vote he needed to become speaker, and now fears that if he ousts Santos the Dems will take the seat. One less vote, along with the right-wing nut jobs, that he cannot afford to lose.

I love the reference to "he did nothing illegal". Most of us live by a moral compass which focuses on ethics and honesty. "Illegal" is way down the list left for the lowest of the low among us. Is that what politicians are admitting to when they say, "nothing illegal"? That they are one step away from the lowest of the low?

Sure seems like it.

Yeah but, him being gay should cancel all that out in a political field at least. Its the fact that he is Republican thats making any noise.
There is no doubt in my mind if he was a Democrat none of this would come out.

What do you think? There are hundreds of George Santos's among Congressional and NY politicians. Hundreds. I'm not exaggerating either. Who do you think runs for office nowadays? How do politicians with the most middle class of salaries come to be worth tens of millions of dollars (or more) when they came into office dead broke?

I yearn for the time when the political class was mostly (not all) the wealthy elite who had nothing better to do with their time.

Let's be honest. He does make conservatives look bad. There's no denying it. Even among libs like the LGBTQ and Jewish liberal crowd supported him initially they are retracting it because he makes them look foolish.
