They stress the investigation is in its preliminary stages.
A report of the incident at the 96th Street station came in around 3 p.m. MTA sources say a commuter train rear-ended a work train.
At least eight people were said to have suffered minor injuries, according to police. The passenger train was evacuated.
21 people hurt now.. they say 1, 2, 3 service will probably be restored tomorrow morning for rush hour, but not guaranteed, according to mta pres. davey
Woah. Thank goodness it wasn't going fast as they were just leaving the station.
3 pm. Aren't a lot of kids taking the subway at that time? Oy, vey.
Well, it could've been worse.

Reportedly people were getting off the train through the windows and walking on the tracks to get out
I've been stuck a few times on trains for excess of 3+ hrs, underground and aboveground
Never seen anybody do that though
Must have been crazy
Smh
I'm sad to hear of it
Hope everyone injured has a swift recovery
