Yet it is only when the age of famine commences that we truly get to witness the sheep shed its wolf attire for only wolves can feast during famine. This is the way wolves and sheep came to be and this is the way wolves and sheep shall continue to be.

I believe that this is an erroneous definition of *religion*. I shall give you the benefit of the doubt and believe it is simply an honest mistake. For if I do not ascribe this, I will have to question your intellect and that would be uncouth of me.
The correct definition is :
*a pursuit or interest to which someone ascribes supreme importance.*
