I don't know. The LIE already has enough traffic. I had to drive out there last week and the traffic was insane.

Somewhere in Queens seemed like a logical place to put a stadium for the Jets. LI would have been too many traffic nightmares. Although you can argue the same thing with Queens, as the borough already has two airports and a stadium as is. I guess Jersey really is the most logical place for the Giants/Jets. Although you have to admit the Giants especially feel like an upstate NY/New Jersey team a lot of times, not an NYC team.

I don't get that feeling at all.. the majority of people I know in the city are Giants fans, and the ones in Jersey are Jets fans. Now, I know there are TWO sides, and I'm sure other people have seen likewise, but it's just as equally split.

There is a big chunk of undeveloped land making up the southwest quadrant formed by the traffic loop where Flatbush Avenue meets the Belt Parkway. I'm waiting patiently for someone to propose building a stadium for the Jets there. It's right on the Belt, so there's plenty of access for cars. And there was a proposal made almost half a century ago to extend the IRT subway from its terminal at Brooklyn College down Flatbush Avenue--this would be a perfect opportunity to build that line (full service to Kings Plaza, with a special extension to the stadium on game days).
The Jets, as you may know, have a unique "out" clause in their relationship with New Jersey and the Meadowlands: they were given permission to get out of that lease without penalty, but only on the condition that they move back to a location within the five boroughs. Obviously, the NJ Sports Authority doesn't think that will happen.
