Quick question. I am supposed to meet up with friends in Penn that will be taking the train from Newark airport.

Does anyone know what tracks the train usually arrives on, and whether my cell phone will work in Penn?

Thanks!

Yes your phone should work inside penn station and the trains can come in anywhere between track 1-10 and sometimes 11-14. the best thing to do is have a meeting spot when your friend gets off the train. On weekends most trains come in on the first 4 tracks but can sometimes come on other tracks

If you have Verizon it'll work. Not sure about the other providers. The train can arrive on any track, you'll have to check the board when you get there.

You can ask them to meet you in front of the police desk in the main rotunda...and you can also have them paged.

Sprint roams for free on VZW so even if only Verizon has coverage you should also be OK with them.

great - thanks a lot!

i was told it makes a difference if they sit on the front of the train or the back as to where they will get off. is this correct?

Also, is it easy to get to the subway when you get off the train?

The phone will probably work, but it's so noisy that you may not be able to hear anything. I speak from personal experience .....
