Does anyone have information on the newly built Kingsbridge Heights condos listed below?

Fieldston Properties - Riverdale, Bronx Real Estate

Is the area bad or rapidly declining? Would the area be okay with families with small children?

Any info would help, thanks!

Typically when areas have increasing property values, and these $300,000 condos are a step-up for the area, as well as major investments like the redevelopment of the Kingsbridge Armory, for example, it is a sign that the area is at the very least stable, and likely improving. The area already has lots of families of all kinds, whether it would be "okay" for you can only be determined by you, your needs, and what you define as okay. I would recommend taking a tour of the area, preferably with someone who actually knows the area who can tell you the ins and outs and show you around properly.

I agree with Sobro Guy. I actually bought a coop in the area two years ago and have been pleased overall. The condos you're referring to were constructed well (not overnight) and the block is well maintained. There is a cooperative board working on having grafitti removed from the garage doors of some nearby homes, and it's assumed that some of these 4 or 5 homes may be renovated and converted to more lucrative multifamily or commercial/residential properties. I think that if you're planning to buy in the neighborhood you should get in before gentrification pushes the prices up even further.
