Hey guys.


Quick question ...where in Manhattan is the best place to meet people from California? im talking sports bars,restaurants, etc

i need to interview someone for a paper i have due (about the differences between Cali and NY)

I would try a college, like Columbia or NYU.

yeah but you can still walk on campus and talk to people, at least with Columbia.

Cali transplant here! I would suggest you stop by Standings Bar on 7th and 2nd (E. Village), it's a cool little dive and the owners are from Cali, and there tends to be a cali crowd there.

I second the Standings recommendation, with one minor correction. Gary (the owner) is from Connecticut, not Cali But a lot of the regulars are. For some reason a lot of the bartenders seem to be from Chicago-land.

Oh yeah it was the bartender who was from California...or so I think. As a Cal alum it is nice knowing there is a place that will have my college's games on many screens (with free pizza on game days).
