Puerto Ricans and New Yorkers, as well as the world, should be very proud of Sonia Sotomayor, as being the first Hispanic woman nominated to the Supreme Court of the USA.

Obama nominates Sotomayor to Supreme Court - CNN.com

New York City we are officially in DC. We did it

Yes this is actually one of the great stories akin to Obama's rise to prominence, a person of modest means with the cards stacked heavily against them, and with hard work, dedication, perserverance, lots of sacrifice, and parents that cared, they succeeded to the upper strata. I congratulate her, as these people did not have the "connections" or the name to get anything handed to them, or have anything come easy for that matter. Everyone should be proud...YES YOU CAN.

Great! Historic indeed. She should make all Puerto Ricans proud! (And all other people of color as well.)

You don't have to be Hispanic and/or female (I am neither, nor "of color" for that matter) to admire her story and be proud of her! (OK I do have some Bronx roots though and my parents were of modest means and strata who pushed us hard, so at least I share that!). Despite some rumblings from the extreme conservative end of the political spectrum, I think she'll sail to the nomination and be a great voice on the court. Congratulations and a Bronx cheer to you (Just kidding, a warm, heartfelt cheer!) :-)

Well unfortunately, Rush Limbaugh is already on his high horse about this. I swear, if you played a drinking game where you took a shot every time Rush Limbaugh accused somebody of being a liberal, you'd almost be as wasted as Rush Limbaugh.
