Hello,

My husband and I literally just moved into our new apartment this week. Yesterday he came home with the news that he got a promotion (yay!) but that means we are moving to Dallas THIS month.

We just signed a lease through Sackman Enterprises on a 3 Bedroom 2 bath ues manhattan for 1 year ending Dec 2010. I need advice on the best way to approach this with the leasing/management company. They have one month's security which we obviously would let them keep considering the circumstances- being on the hook for the entire year is daunting considering we won't be here-- any advice or previous experience would be extremely helpful!

Thanks

You will have to refer back to your lease. I know for me, we have 30 days from signing our lease without penalty. So you may still have time to leave without being in a long term situation.

You should also ask his company if they'll pay off the lease, since THEY are the ones that are demanding (not requesting) that you move.
