Hey folks. What's the word out on the streets (and in academia) re Technical Career Institutes--aka The College of Technology? Any information--good, bad, or in-between--would be helpful. Thanks.

The smart word is that college overall is too expensive. Even if you go to a city or state college they make you take 2 years of classes that are mainly a repeat of high school courses before you take your major. I do not have any specifics on TCI but I do know from reading the financial news and talking to out of work college graduates that it is wiser to have a trade than to go to college right now. ITT Tech is good for their criminal justice program, and "green" jobs will be booming in a few years. Just make sure that when you go to a tech school for a visit that you do not sign anything before you make a decision. Sometimes the admissions people do the hard sell because they have to make their quota. If you have any other questions let me know I would love to help if I can.
