I've shopped around a little bit, and I can't find an inexpensive place to buy a couch in Ithaca. It seems that the retailers in this college town know their market. Does anybody have a suggestion where I can buy a new sofa for a reasonable price?

Or 15 years ago I remember folks getting together for IKEA road trips...

Borrow or rent a van and drive to Syracuse. There's a Value City Furniture store store on East Genesee Street next to the big Wegman's store.
