Espey sets record with $58.4 million sales backlog
"Espey Mfg. & Electronics Corp.'s order backlog jumped to a record high $58.4 million as new bookings doubled for the first half of its fiscal year 2020.
The Saratoga Springs manufacturer of transformers and power converters, used on ships, freight locomotives and aircraft, booked $26 million in new orders for the first six months of its fiscal year, an increase of $12.6 million from the first half of fiscal year 2019.
Repeat customers and a first-time order from a division of a large defense contractor were the driving force behind the record high backlog as of Dec. 31. The backlog as of the final day of 2018 was $45.8 million.
"We believe business will build itself if we continue executing and delighting our customers," said Patrick Enright, Espey's president and chief executive."
