True, as many of the questions asked on this forum are pretty much similar or the same rehashed topics/questions.
It was almost exactly a year I happen to overhear a lady for the Oneida visitors information booth just off the Thruway telling of how her home in a old but very nice section of Utica was broken into while her retired Doctor husband was inside. They did not break in once but twice over a few weeks taking jewelry and other items.
I stopped last week at the same information both while heading up North and asked if the situation had changed in the area. The other lady employee said it has got worse in the area with drugs & crime rampant!
I hope crime is addressed in the up coming debates with the governor.
Hmm, you probably were talking about this (which is right off the Thruway). It sounds like you are talking about Utica and not Oneida.
To be fair I have a new guy at work that was raised in Utica, Cornhill section, and he does talk about it like the OP.
So its out there.
Yes, I know about Cornhill and the West Side near the brewery. I'm curious what this nice area is that the OP is referring to though.
