My husband and I are plannig to take a week long vacation in June or July in the Catskills region. Many places are already booked, so we are left speculating quite a bit about the dates. The challenges being that I'm expecing our second, and our first one is 18 months. We want a place with a pool but not sure about the water temperature and the weather. Will the end of June be too chilly for our little one? Is the end of July more suitable for swimming in the pool for him? And what air temperatures should ai expect during that time?

And as far as the end of July, I would imagine it would be better for swimming, but will it be too hot for me to enjoy the outdoors? Thanks, and I'm sorry about the numerous questions. The last time I was there was 10 years ago.

Being a seasonal resident of the Catskills(Sullivan county) for a long time, I can tell you the weather is as changeable as any where else. By the end of June I have had temps in the 90's or in the low 60's. With the crazy weather of this winter I would expect the weather to be warmer than normal BUT that could change also. The river temp are also dependent on rainfall.

The only nice resort in Sullivan County is Villa Roma near Narrowsburg. All of the other great resorts have closed (Grossingers, The Concord, The Neville, Brown's, Kutcher's, etc.).

I recommend the Woodloch resorts, which are in PA but not far from Narrowsburg. They are rated almost 5 (out of 5) on Trip Advisor.

What sort of lodging are you looking for? You'd really need to go to PA to find an all inclusive resort.

The weather is anyone's guess at this point. Late June can certainly be hot and July can easily be chilly.
