She will be the first female governor. She is of Irish extraction (or possibly French via England) but her husband is most likely of Polish extraction. In a state where ethnicity plays an important role in politics, will she be accepted by the majority of the electorate?
Well, she is a “she” so that will be a first for NY.
Even though she’s getting the big job by default she will still be the first female governor of NY. So people will automatically love, praise, and adore her for no other reason.
I predict she’ll suffer the same fate as the first black governor. Ride out the term and disappear. I’d bet the party is foaming at the mouth trying to find the next “anointed one” whoever it may be, to run. Nobody cared about her because nobody ever thought anything would ever happen to Cuomo. Now it’s like “oh poop, she’s gonna be in charge?”
She’s probably getting a lot of “talking to’s” and ground rules right now.
It has been reported that downstate money is flowing into her coffers.
Of course, as that is where most of the money is in the state. With that said, I think she is also familiar with some of the concerns people Upstate would have.

If that is true, there is no evidence. Haven't seen her do anything but ribbon cuttings. My thoughts are she will just be a figurehead, and get her marching orders from someone else.

We'll see, but you can only do so much from her current position. However, I will say that it does seem like Upstate NY has seen more interest and development in the past 10 years or so than it did previously. so, perhaps she had some input in that regard.

Who cares!!! People put too much emphasis on being the first of this or first of that. Hochel also knew what was going on with Andy so she's just as complicit for not calling him on it.
