Hi, I'm traveling to Wappinger Falls, NY. I'm from the deep South. Since this might be a once in a lifetime trip for me, I was wanting to go into New York City before I fly home. Is there any type of public transportation from this area into the city? If you only had a day to see NYC, what would you see. Is there a particular tour that takes you all around? Please help..

Thanks.

There are three train stations in the area: New Hamburg (closest), Beacon, and Poughkeepsie. All on the same line. It takes 80-100 minutes from New Hamburg depending on the train you catch.
