Don't confront just him....confront her and him, it needs to be done, and you'll probably feel a lot lighter if you do. Don't allow your son to abuse you...is that what it takes for him to stay?...Is that what you really want?...You can never really lose him, unless he dies, but you can demand that he show respect in your home. I wouldn't hesitate to ask him to leave if that's not something he feels he can do....sorry, goodluck, hope things work out best for you.

Whenever I hear stories like this I always tell the person to put their house on the market and upgrade to a nice, 1-bedroom condo with no room for parasitic relatives.

For some reason, they never take my advice. I have come to the conclusion that they enjoy and reap some benefit from being at the center of family drama.
