I thought about doing that as I'm shy, struggling what to say when I'm around people.

.... Interesting question, actually, thank you.

.... If you were to be selective about the topics that actually interest you that are found here, then would read through them & gather a balance of views, then this could be an asset towards "breaking the ice" in social settings. That is, unless everyone around you just want to hear themselves talk. It could be difficult to get a word in edgewise. Hopefully you enjoy a good circle of friends who will want to hear what you have to offer.

.... Here's a thread of many views that was personally found to be very interesting, a topic that could work towards what you are speaking of:

.... Not making eye contact disrespectful?

.... Plenty of other topics here too, for sure. You are bound to find several. Best wishes, HappyFarms34.

Absolutely.
Sometimes we're d*cking around at work (during our rare slow times) and I will be on here and laughing about something and then everyone will come and look at the question and pose their own answers.

I tell my wife sometimes about topics on here. She has an account but is never on here.

Sometimes around the dinner table, I use examples of crazy things I have read on here...

Yes, my husband and I talk about some of these topics pretty often.

It helps us not talk about kids or money on date night.

I did it yesterday - a topic that caught my eye on the front page that was in the Parenting forum.

I've done it a few other times as well but not that often.

Yes, especially topics that are funny or have very heated and polar opposite views. Most recently I shared the topic " Someone keeps taking my lunch" from the work and employment section. So many funny ways to handle food thieves and amusing stories.

Sometimes I use C-D stuff in RL, but more often I gossip about RL stuff here.
