I'm 42 and am pretty much an average 42yr old - wife, kid, dog, good career, huge mortgage, etc. So I'm well within grown up status. But when did I feel like one...for me, it's dependent on the activity. When defending and standing up for my family and what I believe in, I felt like one for a long time. When having fun, I still feel like a kid.

Or should I say, I realized all those Grown Ups were just as immature as your average 5 year old.

At work, I feel like a grown up.

At amusement parks, baseball stadiums, concerts, etc.. I feel like a kid.

My internship makes me feel like an adult. I work with people younger than me and I have had some who ask if I am married or if I have kids and I'm like "omg how old do I look"

I'm 63- almost 64, retired, married for 39 years, mother of adult children & a grandmother and I still feel like a kid most of the time.

However, I did feel like an adult when I assisted in planning my parents funerals.

when I married and moved to the US. One of us had to be responsible and it wasn't in him so I had to grow up over night.

I was 28 and in that year, my father died and I gave birth to my first child. That, for me, was the quick transition from child to parent. Suddenly I was responsible for another life, and suddenly I no longer had my dad.
