When I was 11 or 12 I thought I knew it all and I was an adult in all but name already. I'm 21 now, though, and I feel less grown-up than ever. Hopefully it'll change when I get my first steady job after graduation that goes on for longer than just a summer.
I was really "mature" when I was 11/12 and I couldn't wait until I was 30. Everyone talked about how mature I was so I felt like I was a "grown up" too. I baby sat a ton, cleaned houses, ran errands for people....gave the money I made to my family or bought my own necessities. I swear, I felt more grown up at 11 then I do most days at almost 40

At 25 the day I took my son home from the hospital...it was an "oh ****" moment when I realized this little guy was totally dependent on me for his life...
As an 18 year old soldier beginning my first tour of duty in Viet Nam.
