Well, for myself it's not so much my parents culture - but their lifestyle and what they believe I couldn't be any more opposite. You are your own person, with your own belief system and values.

What works for your parents, may not necessarily work for you.

This is perfectly normal and adaptive
So don't feel like you're "doing evil" by making your own healthy personal choices
Your parents eyes aren't in the sky looking down on you at all hours of the day like you may guiltily think they are
