I believe she is well into her 70's by now.
Blanche lived about three blocks away from us when I was growing up. I heard she has cancer and isn't doing too well.

"Burlington has the nickname "Bore-lington". "

It's "Bore-ington". LOL I've done alot of dumping on my hometown myself but I have to admit things are looking much, much better around here (except for east Burlington which is still slummier than ever). There has been alot of growth in the past couple of years and the shopping scene has improved greatly. We still don't have a decent mall, though, and considering our proximity to G'boro I don't foresee one in the future.

Also, like the other poster commented, we do have some really nice parks here. We also have some beautiful new subdivisions now too. There is a new one right behind us called Waterford-at-the-Lake that I would move to in a NY minute if I could afford it; it's in a beautiful setting with nice wooded lots.

Here are a couple of the new homes there:

And more in the Burlington area if anyone's interested:

Default burlington...

hey there. i'm 15 and i've lived here in Burlington for 8 years. it's a nice little town, with good schools, but...there's practically nothing to do around here, so it gets boring. but it's alright. =) and we're close enough to greensboro if we're that bored. =D

Burlington is now considered the next Raleigh_durham, we are growing so much... This summer ( late) we are getting a new 840,000 square foot mall in the heart of burlington, there are many new resturants including Chop House grill ( wonderful) . My son also goes to private school inbetween burlington and elon.. Burlington Day school, I would recommend it to anyone who wants to feel like part of a family... WONDERFUL... you will not regret your move here... And i agree Fresh Market is wonderful... Good Luck..
