does unemployment verify your job search dates?? (employment, reviews)

I am bringing audited for unemployment and lost my notebook month ago. I was able to recover most through emails but I know some may be off. I dont want to be accused of fraud if the call and dates don't match! Does anyone know if they verify and how and audit actually works?

Two things that aren't clear. First, as far as I know there is no entity knows as "unemployment". That is a status and a status probably won't audit you.

Second, what do you mean but audit? If it's just the regular check-in then probably not but don't lie just in case. They don't have time to verify everything. Now, if by "audit" you mean "audit" as in you've done something suspicious and they are bringing you in for a one on one then I'd expect them to spot check your records.

Others may have more recent experience. Usually checking in via the website gets you out of these things so keep checking in case it changes it's mind.

Do you mean that you have to go for an employment search verification review? That usually starts once you hit the NC state extension phase. If so, then no they don't verify dates, they make sure you have two different searches a week, address, name, etc. the dates have to be sequential but they don't check to see if you actually went on that day. I shouldn't probably be admitting this, but when I was on unemployment I would do 10 to 20 applications a week. If there was a week where there wasn't anything for me to apply for I would just use one of the 20 from a previous week. During one of my reviews a lady literally didn't have anything on one week but had three on another week. They actually told her that when they come back into the room, she would need at least one search for every week. Bottom line. She moved that one to another week, they accepted it. They then make copies of everything and send you on your way. I don't know what happens to those copies. If you are big audited, then that is another story all together. It all depends on why you are being audited.
