With that said, McCrory is right on this one. We need more workers who are willing to build things and transport them.
Those manufacturing jobs were outsourced.. remember?? They told you then that it would be "better for everyone"... now they're telling you unemployment is because "you're lazy or unwilling to work" and you believe it???
There are times when I just feel the working and middle class deserve everything they get for being so gullible.
^Dream On. It's not happening anytime relevant for someone considering a career right now. Ford is recalling close to a million cars this week because of an electronic faults that prevents the car from making the "decision" to deploy the airbags.
I'm familiar with the auto driving cars. I have a S550 which already incorporates much of this technology. It will follow the car in front of it and stop and start in traffic as needed with out any input from me. However if mud or something gets on the sensors it will stop working too. California, with quite some alarm at Google rendition of this concept is working on, or has already passed a law preventing a vehicle from going onto the roads without a steering wheel.
Driverless cars & airplanes are a pointless conversation to have in this topic. Charlotte for example is the 6th largest trucking distribution area in the USA. There is a huge demand for truckers here and I can see that demand rising as such things as the Amazon distribution center comes on line and the new airport multimodal transit area opens.

I'm sure farm workers would have said the same thing about self driving farm equipment. When I was younger I never would have thought they would replace tens of thousands of cashiers with self checkouts either.

Yet John Deere & others continue to sell a record # of harvesters that are designed for drivers. They spend an enormous amount of research and engineering developing these driver cabs.
From their website of their highest end combine......
Riding in comfort and style isn’t just for luxury automobiles. T-Series combines provide the relaxed environment you need to stay alert and productive for long harvest days. Not to mention conveniently placed controls to further keep stress and fatigue at a minimum.

Bless your heart oh wise one. Your sarcasm surely helps persuade people to your position.
As a Southerner, I see what you did there. I'm not trying to persuade people to change their beliefs. But I don't mind pointing out nonsense given as a response to one of my posts.
BTW, the topic is about the careers. I'd be interested if you have anything to say about that, if anything. If you already said something, relevant, then my apologies for missing it.
