Q's re:Neighborhood in ROCKINGHAM NC, Also Handyman Referral (houses, buyers)

Hi all,
I've been mostly posting in RETIREMENT regarding my search for a small (under 600sf) house to buy for under 30K cash, for an empty nest.

I'm going to put an offer on this place:

When I viewed it I could tell the neighborhood was racially mixed, also kinda hodgepodge as in some houses were super cute and well maintained and others really shabby.
At my price range I don't expect highfalutin neighbors so that is OK and what I expected. I realize at this price most buyers are investors, not widowed ladies like myself looking to actually LIVE in the place.

I don't care what race/ethnicity my neighbors are as long as they don't rob me or knock over my garden gnomes so to speak. Houses on this street and streets around had nicely decorated yards that, I am assuming, are left alone.

BUT. If anyone is from ROCKINGHAM and has anything to tell me I ought to know please do!

Also I need a GC to go over the place (don't need a full inspection, just some work priced for me) and have two names, have called both and neither have gotten back to me yet so if anyone knows a reliable GC or handyman I'd love some more names to call for an estimate.

I can't help with neighborhood information. I am not familiar with that specific street or the neighborhood.
