Hello,I am new to this.I am in NC been driving since 2013 but someone hit my car some days ago and she’s at fault. Her Insurance first said we share negligence.I went back to my Insurance because they already asked me if I want to use my coverage. Now that her insurance said they cannot be responsible,I turned to my Insurance and me and my insurance claim adjuster set up an appointment at a local shop. After about two days,I received a call from the other person’s insurance again that they took another look at it and they have issued me $2500 check for my car.I have $500 deductible with my insurance,I do not want to get in trouble for two payments,is it legal to let my insurance repair my car and I pay my $500 then also got the $2500 from the other Insurance?,I think they changed their mind when I said I will press charges on the Girl because I have police report, they wanted to play games before because they knew I’m not from here, became citizen in 2016 though.I planned on telling my claim adjuster about it though. Please advice.

Call your claims adjuster and they can walk you through it.

You can collect from one company or the other. Not both. Since the other person's carrier has accepted liability and paid you, call your carrier and tell them that's what happened and cancel that claim.
