just returned from madison nc , when I arrived at the homesite ..I noticed an abundance of bees nesting on the siding roof hang...Then I saw the siding on house back section ..someone left behind a wood pile against the foundation...just above that I noticed the siding has seperated off in that section straight to the roof leaving one inch gaps ...every 4 to eight inches . Now what do I do .I see bees flying in and out of the siding , I see dead bees on the livingroom rug ..I never made it in the house ..I saw enough from the outside..any ideas why siding is popping off back of the house .??? all replys appreciated on this matter .thankyou
what type of siding is it, hardiboard , vinyl? to much moisture, poor install sound like you need to have someone come out kill the bees and reinstall siding, is it bubbled, warped?
I think the termites ate the exterior from the wd pile ..swarms must of got between the siding ..its 1998 double wide ..only that section is falling off ...thankyou
termites can work fast, call someone to kill off bees they probably have a nest in there, pull of siding replace damaged agrea, replace siding, check insurance may cover it.
I live in a 1965 single mh with a pop out. It has its share of problems like leaking faucets, poor roof & termites. I have lived in it for over 16 yrs & for the past 15 yrs I have patched up my roof at least once a year. A new roof would cost approx. 2k dollars & I have spent approx. 100.00 in materials in the past 15 yrs. I have a downdraft cooler that's old & this will be the 2nd summer straight without a cooler. Its tough inside a mh without cooling but I will survive. It don't rain much here (avg annual rainfall is 13.5 inches) & the summers are mainly hot & cry. I have a neighbor who just bought a used double wide mh & she paid much more then its worth.
You don't want to kill the bees. Call your local Cooperative Extension office for someone to come and remove the bees.
I think the only reason to save & relocate the bees is if they are honeybees, which are becoming endangered. Someone should determine that first.
